No Show/No Call: As a small business, it’s important for us to fill every appointment opening to help keep our doors open. Therefore, there will be a $20 fee if you fail to show up or cancel more than one appointment. (For the first No-Show, we will just inform you of our No-Show Policy). After the second No-Show, you will be required to pre-pay for any future appointments. Our cancellation policy is a 24-hour notice, but we understand that isn’t always possible so we ask that you cancel as soon as possible to give us ample time to fill that appointment.
Drop Off : Our scheduling process is set up to ensure a quick turnaround so your pup(s) isn’t at the salon for long periods of time. Therefore, it’s important to be on time for your appointment as being late causes a domino effect and us to be backed up on other appointments. If you’re ever running late, give us a call and we’ll gladly work with you.
Our groom times are normally 45 mins – 3 hrs for baths and 1 ½ – 4 ½ hrs for clean ups or full grooms depending on breed/size/coat condition/temperament.
We reserve the right to cancel/reschedule any appointment that is 15 + minutes late.
Please walk your pup(s) prior to drop off so they can relieve themselves. Thank you
Pick Up: Although we love spending time with your furry friend(s), due to the fact that we’re a small salon with limited kennel space we ask that you pick up your pup(s) within the hour after completion time. We will give you a head’s up call 15 minutes before we’re done.
Dematting: Our basic full service packages include a 15 minute brush out. If it takes longer than 15 minutes to de-mat your pup, you will be charged a dematting fee. The fee is $10 for every extra 15 minutes. If it’s determined that your pup is severely matted and can’t be brushed out, either at check-in or during the demat process, you will be charged a a shave down fee, as your pet will need to receive two haircuts: one before the bath and another after the bath to clean up the cut. The shave down fee will be determined by the amount of time with a minimal charge of $10.
Fleas: If during the grooming process, we find fleas unbeknownst to you at check-in, we will call you immediately and inform you, then quickly do a flea bath. This is to prevent both the salon and any of the other dogs in our care from getting them. The flea bath is an additional charge of $5. If you do not want to do the bath, you will be required to pick up your dog within 20 minutes. The flea bath will just kill the fleas present on your pup, it doesn’t prevent them from coming back.
Special Handling: While we will take in any dog regardless of age and temperament, you may be charged an additional fee if your dog is difficult or requires 2 people to finish the groom. The fee is determined on a case by case basis but typically between $10-$20.
Stress: We know that going to the groomers can be a stressful time for some of our furry clients. At The Modern Pup, we try our best to make the visit as comfortable as possible for them. If we feel your pup is overly stressed out, we reserve the right to end the grooming session in your pet’s best interest so to not traumatize them. You are more than welcomed to reschedule their appointment to another day and we will try again to finish the groom.
